You want your insurance policy to protect your assets and do what it is supposed to do in the event of a covered loss, which is to restore you to resemble pre-loss conditions. In your personal claim notes:

  • Keep track of who you spoke to

  • When you spoke to them

  • What their role is

  • Clarify WHO will be doing WHAT and WHEN.

You want your insurance policy to do what it is supposed to do during the event that you need it to cover what you purchased it for. Your agent and your adjuster(s) will play important roles in this process.
