We are proud to be a growing small business in Pierce County. When our team works up a hunger from helping homeowners with remodeling and insurance repairs, we like to grab a bite together. One of our team members had the tasty idea to try various wing restaurants and post our findings of local treasures. It’s a win-win. Local companies get a shout out and our team gets a delicious meal. For our first local restaurant review, we chose BB.Q Chicken Wings in Lakewood, WA.

What are Korean BBQ Wings?
According to another franchise, KChicken, there are at least four things that make Korean Chicken unique.
The chicken is double-fried
Usually coated in a sweet and spicy sauce
Often served with pickled radishes
Served with rice
“Korean chicken is unique in the sense that is known for being double-fried. It is first fried at a low temperature and then fried at a higher temperature, giving the chicken a crispy texture that is loved by many.”
Our team really enjoyed the crisp exterior with well-cooked and moist interior chicken meat. The breading for the BBQ wings was crunchy and light. The flavors were good. We were looking for some spice and thought we had ordered one of the hottest options to get a range of experiences. Unfortunately, what we tried was not that spicy. The only critique we had was that most were sweet and not enough kick for the option that we expected to have some heat.

Korean BBQ Chicken Wings Near Tacoma, WA
BB.Q Chicken is an emerging chain of restaurants. The BB.Q corporate website states,
The bb.q in our name stands for “Best of the Best Quality”, and that’s exactly what you can expect from every one of our restaurants. Our Korean fried chicken is crispier, juicier, and more tender than anything you’ve tasted before, and our sauces provide an eclectic mix of flavor. Every dish is the result of both longstanding Korean tradition and modern research and development from our very own Chicken University. It’s a tremendous amount of work, but it’s all worth it when you take that first bite.
Their history goes back to Seoul, Korea, and their legacy is preserved through their internal Chicken University.
In 1995, Our Chairman Yoon Hong-guen founded bb.q chicken in Seoul, South Korea with one simple mission: serve great-tasting, high-quality Korean fried chicken to the world. It’s safe to say that mission succeeded, as bb.q now operates in thousands of stores across the globe.
